Having a petition with over 40,000 signatures, Oxygen network has officially cancelled rapper Shawty Lo’s reality TV show.

The show “All My Babies Mamas” centered around the Atlanta rapper and his 10 different baby mothers and 11 children. This hip hop star’s youngest baby mother is the same age as his oldest daughter.

A network spokesperson for Oxygen released a statement regarding the show’s cancellation, “As part of our development process, we have reviewed casting and decided not to move forward with the special. We will continue to develop compelling content that resonates with our young female viewers and drives the cultural conversation.”

Once the petition was started, it received over 30,000 signatures within the first 10 days.

Oxygen attempted to defend the reality show by saying it was not meant to be a stereotypical representation of everyday life for any one demographic. After that didn’t work and the petition list grew, Shawty Lo was forced to defend his show on his own.

The pilot to “All My Babies Mamas” landed on the Internet in December and immediately received negative critiques and reviews. Online petitions and boycott threats was apparently too much for the Oxygen network, therefore, forcing them to pull the plug.

“You can hate all you want to, I didn’t ask for it. It just happened. Now that it happened, I’m supposed to turn my back against it?” said Shawty Lo in an MTV News interview.
