Ocean reportedly was driving his black BMW “roughly” more than 95 mph in a 65 mph zone. The Grammy-nominated singer, whose given name is Christopher Breaux, has temporarily lost his license and faces charges for possession of marijuana.
According to the Mono County Sheriff’s Office, he was heading northbound on U.S. 395. The officer approached Ocean’s black BMW and a “strong odor of marijuana” was prominent, and the BMW was searched.
Ocean, 25, was also cited for driving on a suspended license, and having illegally tinted windows on his vehicle.
According to the Sheriff’s office, the incident has been forwarded to the Mono County District Attorney’s Office.
Ocean’s representative Heathcliff Berru declined to comment.
